It’s time to change how we think about “stay-at-home” moms.

  • The Problem

Moms who take time to raise kids keep the world running, yet we call what they do “staying at home.” We carry the idea that moms’ labor is only valuable in the home. This bias is clear when looking at moms returning to work. They are more likely to get passed over by hiring managers with a caretaking gap on their resumes.

  • The Insight

We put “real work” on our resumes. But real, valuable work isn’t always paid work. Moms who take career breaks are doing real work.

  • The Solution

We created MommyMomMe Inc. to literally fill the resume gap and get people talking about this issue. A real company—with a logo, LinkedIn page, website, titles, and business cards—that gives motherhood the corporate packaging we’ve been trained to recognize as “real work.” Because the work was always real. It just didn’t look corporate enough.

MommyMomMe translates the skills of motherhood into the language of the workplace—and works to make caregiving count as the real experience it is.
